Simple time reporting

TimeCompanion Desktop Edition is an easy-to-use time reporting tool. It runs on Microsoft Windows 98, 2000 or XP. Installation is simple, and using it to report time on projects, time categories, cost categories, etc, is straightforward.

Features

You can use TimeCompanion to report time for internal tracking or as a basis for billing your customers. You can set it up for personal use with the database on your computer, or share the database on your local area network to create a multi-user installation.

Installation - minimum system requirements

• Microsoft Windows 98/ME/NT 4.0/2000/XP
• Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1
• Microsoft Data Access Components 2.5 (or higher)
• Microsoft JET 4.0 SP3 (or higher)

Installation notes by operating system version

Depending on your computer configuration, you may need to install required operating system files before installing TimeCompanion 2003 Desktop Edition. The installation file does not include Microsoft Data Access Components, Microsoft Jet 4.0 or Microsoft Installer in order to reduce the download size. Follow the instruction for your specific operating system below.

1. Computers running Windows XP Professional / Home Edition
2. Computers running Windows 2000 Professional
3. Computers running Windows 98 / Millenium Edition
4. Computers running Windows NT 4.0

A. Computers running Windows XP Professional / Home Edition

1. Always make sure that you have installed the latest service pack version available from Microsoft. The minimum service pack level required is Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1). If you do not have SP1 (or higher) installed on your computer, run Windows Update now, or download and install the latest service pack from Microsoft.
2. Download TimeCompanion 2003.msi and follow the on-screen instructions.

B. Computers running Windows 2000 Professional

1. Always make sure that you have installed the latest service pack version available from Microsoft. The minimum service pack level required is Windows 2000 Service Pack 2 (SP2). If you do not have SP2 (or higher) installed on your computer, run Windows Update now, or download and install the latest service pack from Microsoft.
2. Download and install Microsoft Installer if you do not already have this.
3. Download TimeCompanion 2003.msi and follow the on-screen instructions.

C. Computers running Windows 98 / Millenium Edition

1. Download and install the latest version of Internet Explorer from Microsoft (recommended). The minimum Internet Explorer version required is Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1.
2. Download and install Microsoft Data Access Components 2.5 (MDAC) (or higher) from Microsoft.
   
   NOTE: If you have installed MDAC 2.6 or higher, you must also install Microsoft JET 4.0 SP3.
3. Download and install Microsoft Installer if you do not already have this.
4. Download TimeCompanion 2003.msi and follow the on-screen instructions.

D. Computers running Windows NT 4.0

1. Make sure that you have installed the latest service pack version available from Microsoft. The minimum service pack level required is Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6 (SP6). If you do not have SP6 (or higher) installed on your computer, run Windows Update, or download and install the latest service pack from Microsoft.
   
   NOTE: SP6 is required to run Windows Installer on Windows NT 4.0.
   
   
2. Download and install the latest version of Internet Explorer from Microsoft (recommended). The minimum Internet Explorer version required is Internet Explorer 5.01 SP1.
3. Download and install Microsoft Data Access Components 2.5 (MDAC) (or higher) from Microsoft.
