  INSTALLATION

Log in to the server computer with administrator permissions (required to install software). Download and run the ProjectCompanion.exe installer on the computer/server. Follow the steps in the Installation Wizard.

During installation; enter the name of the SQL Server you want to use. If you have SQL Server Express installed with default options on the same server the name is (LOCAL)\SQLEXPRESS. If it is installed on another server, enter the server name instead of (LOCAL). Use Windows NT Authentication if the database is installed on the same server.

  LOG IN TO GET GOING

Start the ProjectCompanion Management Console on the server (from the Windows Start menu, All programs, ProjectCompanion). Log in with:

User name: admin

Password: admin

You reach the web application from the Windows Start menu on the server, or by starting your web browser on the server and typing
http://localhost/projectcompanion

To reach the system from another computer on the network, enter the server name of the server where ProjectCompanion is installed instead of localhost:

http://servername/projectcompanion

  ENTERPRISE BACK-OFFICE

You can run the Enterprise back-office FREE for 30 days.

The Enterprise back-office consists of the Management Console and the Business Report tool. The Management Console is already installed on the server. To complete the installation, download EnterpriseReports.zip, unzip it and run the installer on the server.

To install Enterprise back-office on client computers, log in to the computer where you want to install the tools and start the ProjectCompanion web tool. Use the Enterprise back-office link in the ProjectCompanion web tool to download back-office installation files, or visit the Enterprise back-office section of this web site.

Note that you may need to extend permissions for clients to be able to access the system. For details, check the back-office section in the installation guide.
