You can install ProjectCompanion on Windows XP Professional, Windows 2003 Server, and Windows 2008 Server.
ProjectCompanion uses Internet Information Services (IIS) 4.0, 5.0, 5.1, 6.0 or 7.0. IIS is a free Windows component.
.NET Frameworks 1.1 SP1 / 2.0 are required. These are available free from Microsoft.
Supported web browsers are Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Mozilla Firefox.
The database is Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or later. SQL Server 2005 Express is available free from Microsoft.

You may need to enable the Web Service Extension "Active Server Pages" in IIS 6.0. In IIS 7.0, you need to enable IIS 6.0 compatibility.
When you log in to the system for the first time the user name is admin and the password is admin - we recommend that you change this immediately after login.

You may need to open port 80 in the firewall to be able to access ProjectCompanion from the Internet. This configuration should only be done by a security specialist.
Log in to the ProjectCompanion web tool with an account that has administrator permissions in ProjectCompanion and select the menu Help, Install. Download the tools to the client computer you want to install on and run the installer. For further information, see the section on setting up back-office tools in Installation and Setup Guide.pdf.

Install an SSL certificate on the web server.
Use a backup script to create a backup and use a Scheduled Task in Windows to run the backup. We recommend that your business data is backed up at least daily.
